In order to commemorate the wedding between the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and Mr Daniel Westling on June 19, Electrolux has developed the new “Swedish Crowns” design concept. Some of the best and most popular products from Electrolux have been covered with the blue and yellow “Kronor” (crowns) pattern, a retro design that is very famous in Sweden.

With a little under a week to go until the deadline for submissions (May 1st 2010) would-be Electrolux Design Lab contestants would do well to note the response to an Electrolux survey* that found equal value is placed upon the aesthetics and performance of a household product. The survey asked people to rank one of the two options exclusively in a purchasing scenario. The results provided a pure 50-50 split, with many finding it difficult to separate the two. At the kitchen fair Eurocucina 2010 in Milan, Electrolux has presented the Shine washing machine concepts, with one of the concepts being a wall mounted version integrated nicely with the other bathroom cupboards.
