AEG energy efficient appliances feature in the Cool Concrete house at EcoBuild 22-24 March at the ExCel, London
Reducing energy consumption does not mean compromising on performance or aesthetics. New technology is key to improved energy consumption which is why ultra energy-efficient AEG appliances were chosen by Lafarge for installation in the Cool Concrete house project.
Based on a design by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, cool concrete is an innovative and energy efficient housing solution. Its construction follows Lafarge’s ‘20 rules of sustainable construction’, putting into practice passive design principles to reduce energy demand, active renewable energy technologies and other sustainable construction techniques.
The AEG appliances that will feature in the Cool Concrete house include the A-20% energy rated BP7304151M MaxiKlasse Pyrolux oven and the A+++-10% L87680FL ProTex washing machine (that’s 10% MORE energy-efficient than A+++, the highest energy efficiency class in the EU!) The A++ rated S53600CSS0 ProFresh fridge freezer will also feature in the Cool Concrete kitchen as it uses 40% less energy than an A rated model. Alongside these appliances will be the AEG HK65400XB MaxiSense induction hob that only operates when a pan is placed on it. Induction has the lowest loss in the heat transfer between the hob and the pot compared to gas and electric.
