Sweden’s Stockholm Royal Seaport urban development area is set to become the site of a unique research project, with 150 new apartments as the testing bench. Globally leading companies have joined forces to equip these homes with state-of-the-art energy technologies and connected appliances, enabling residents to monitor and control their energy usage in real time. Electrolux is one of the companies behind the project, which was launched April 29.

The company was also for the second year running named Sector Leader in the RobecoSAM 2013 global sustainability rating, and ranked as one of the world’s leading consumer goods companies in terms of addressing climate change.

The prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) for 2012 announced that Electrolux maintains sector leader in the Durable Household Products category. Electrolux score had further improved compared to 2011.
Electrolux has been recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies 2012 by the Ethisphere Institute. The annual ranking names 145 companies that surpass their industry peers. Honorees are rewarded for implementing business practices and initiatives that are instrumental to the company’s success, benefit the community and raise the bar for ethical standards within the industry.
