AEG tumble dryers have been awarded The Woolmark Gold Apparel Care certification which certifies that a hand-washable woolen garment can be tumble dried safely- even if the label forbids it.

With an AEG tumble dryer no fabric is out of bounds. Silks, woolens, cashmere and ‘air dry only’ garments can be dried in this Woolmark Gold awarded range.

Never ‘dry flat’ woollens again

’Handwash’ or ‘dry flat’ are now things of the past, as your treasured woollen garments need no longer be left behind when you sort your load. AEG’s patented drum rotates at 75 rpm to ensure woollen garments cling to the drum, rather than being thrown around during the cycle. Every 10 minutes, the drum will stop so that the garment can change position before the next drying phase. This way, the garment will be dried evenly and carefully with very little movement, reducing any shrinkage, felting or bobbling.

Silk/Lingerie programme

This is a particularly gentle programme, where there is very little movement of the drum. In fact, the drum is only in motion around 10% of the time. In these dryers, you can dry almost any type of laundry, including a lot of garments that could normally not be dried in a tumble dryer. Together with the Wool programme, the Silk/Lingerie programme demonstrates the great versatility of the AEG ProTex Plus dryers.

Fewer creases mean less ironing

“The specially patented AEG drum is designed to gently dry whilst its 9kg capacity and special airflow system give clothes more space to ‘breathe’ so they tangle less and dry more evenly with fewer wrinkles,” says Joe Oram, Head of Product Line- Laundry & Home Comfort at AEG. “The XXL Soft Drum, at118 litres also ensures gentle handling as garments can move around freely whilst the invertor motor reverses the direction of the drum, reducing creasing to give a more uniform drying result.”

Drying perfection from the inventors of Heat Pump

AEG was the first manufacturer in the world to use heat pump technology in a tumble dryer. Heat pump technology is a sophisticated system that gently dries garments using lower temperatures – around 50°C – by recycling hot air within the system. Not only does this create the perfect environment for delicate fabrics, but it also saves energy, making the top-of-the-range T96699IH dryer 50% more efficient than the minimum required for the ‘A’ energy class rating.

The dryer can be stacked on top of the ProTex washer to save space by using a special stacking kit with a pull-out shelf for folding laundry available as an option.

AEG’s ProTex washing machines can ‘refresh’ and ‘de-crease’ even dry-clean only garments, which means you can cut back on those costly and time consuming trips to the dry cleaners!

Our top of the range AEG ProTex washing machine L98699FL has a range of steam settings to choose from to suit your different fabric needs and deliver the best possible results. Each steam function is available at your fingertips on the LogiControl touch display. This clear and concise user interface allows you to intuitively pick the setting that is right for your needs.

Which setting is right for my garment?

Anti-crease: During the hustle and bustle of commuting, working, shopping and caring for your family, it’s hard to find time to do the ironing. With the Anti-crease setting, a 30 minute de-wrinkling programme removes the majority of creases and wrinkles for up to 1kg (approx. 5 shirts) of your laundry.

Refresh: The Refresh programme allows you to quickly pop a shirt into the washing machine to remove the day’s odours and restore that clean, crisp look that you had at the beginning of the day. At only 20 minutes long, this setting is quick, convenient and appropriate for up 1kg of synthetic garments.

Refresh Dry Clean only garments

If you only want to refresh a suit or other dry clean only garment, the AEG ProTex steam function is perfect for the job. If you normally take your suit to the dry cleaners 4-5 times per year, you could cut this down to just once or twice a year. With a man’s suit costing around £12 (based on Johnson’s The Cleaners price at May 2013) to dry clean, the cost savings are significant, as the steam function costs around 3 pence to run.

How does the steam programme work?

Step 1. A small quantity of water, determined automatically by the washing machine’s intelligent weight sensors, is poured into the tub that just covers the heating element.

Step 2. Steam is created by the contact between the water and the hot heating element.

Step 3. Steam penetrates the fabrics quite easily and quickly. In fact, a ‘refresh’ steam programme like ours requires very little energy, less than 0.2 kWh! That is around 3 pence (based on 1kWh = 15 pence).

Result? The steam allows the garments to become more flexible, relaxing the fibres, and removing creases and folds. In reality, the machine is using steam like an iron does.

How? In garments that have already been worn, steam absorbs the odours in the same way as the outside fresh air would do, but much more quickly.

Advanced washing technology ensures precise and gentle washing with perfect results. “Great clothes deserve great care, and perfection is all about the way the clothes are treated in a cycle” says Joe Oram, Head of Product Line, Laundry & Home Comfort at AEG. “AEG provides the ultimate care for your clothes by combining several advances in washing technology to gently get them clean, but still protect and preserve fabrics over time”.

Unrivalled care for delicate fabrics

With an AEG ProTex Plus washing machine you can wash even the most delicate silk and woollen garments. AEG features the only wool programme on the market today that has a ‘cool down’ phase at the end of the wash cycle, which protects fabrics from the shock of a cold water rinse at the end. This process keeps shrinking to an absolute minimum.

The most appropriate cycle for delicate fabrics on any washing machine is the Hand Wash programme. During an AEG Hand Wash cycle, the drum moves at only 30rpm allowing ‘hand wash only’ garments to be cared for gently whilst preventing any agitation that might cause damage to the fabric structure. This programme is so gentle that you can even wash cashmere with confidence.

Clean ‘dry clean’ only garments at home

Sometimes you only need to refresh a suit or LBD rather then send it to the dry cleaners. With AEG’s steam function you can ‘refresh’ a suit and generates steam at a lower temperature of 70°C for improved gentleness, making it ideal for Dry Clean only garments.

What’s more, the time and money saving benefits can quickly add up. If you normally take your suit to the dry cleaners 4-5 times per year, you could cut this down to just once or twice a year. With a man’s suit costing around £12 to dry clean, the savings are significant, as the steam function costs around just 3 pence to run.

Create the optimum washing environment

AEG’s advanced, OptiSense wash system accurately senses the size of the load and decides on the exact amount of water, energy and time needed, so that clothes are not over-washed. “There’s no over-washing, just the right amount of water, detergent and time for outstanding fabric care, that will keep your wardrobe looking like newer for longer” says Joe Oram.

The specially patented ProTex drum on the AEG washing machine always delivers the gentlest wash possible. The combination of the small drain hole size and large perforated drum area, ensures exceptional gentleness, combined with state-of-the-art washing and rinsing efficiency. The 66 litre drum volume on the top-of-the-range L98699FL allows clothes to move freely around the drum, so that they are less creased by the end of the cycle.

AEG’s Advance Washing Technology is a unique shower system that quickly wets clothes and prevents bleach stains that could occur from over-concentration of detergent at the start of a wash programme. Continuous showering also guarantees that water is sprayed right into the heart of the wash, so that even a full load is washed and rinsed evenly and efficiently.

Top category for energy efficiency

The top-of-the-range L98699FL AEG washing machine is rated A+++-20% for energy efficiency meaning it is 20% more efficient than the maximum required for Europe’s top rating. This top of the range model uses less than 157kW per year which equates to the same amount as an 18 watt light bulb! Compared with an A rated machine this saves 236kWh per year – around £23.60 (based on 1kWh = 10p).

Electrolux is partnering with Michelin star chefs ahead of its presence at Cannes Film Festival to create a series of homage meals to previous film festival winners.

Electrolux celebrates nearly 100 years of professional expertise by continuing its support of Film Festival de Cannes. Electrolux is the chosen supplier of almost 50% of Michelin Starred restaurants in Europe and will bring a number of its partner chefs to the 2013 festival to ensure gastronomic excellence for all gala events and dining occasions.

Ahead of the festival, Electrolux partner chef and Two Michelin Star holder Claude Bosi, responsible for cooking for the Cinéfondation Jury, headed by Jane Campion, has created a homage meal to ‘The Piano’, winner of the 1993 Palm d’Or. Watch Bosi’s Flavour of Film on Electrolux’s YouTube Channel.

“Electrolux are taking a number of the professional chefs that we support on a daily basis within their own restaurant kitchens to Film Festival de Cannes to guarantee fantastic dining at the Festival.” says Olivia Kaye, Experiential Manager, Electrolux. “By sharing the professional shortcuts Electrolux have picked up through our presence in 50% of Europe’s Michelin Starred restaurants, we want to show people it doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive to create great experiences at home and Claude Bosi’s homage meal to ‘The Piano’ serves as both a fun and imaginative source of inspiration”

The menu references several scenes from the movie with the desert for instance, ‘Piano on the Beach’, made out of black and white meringue and breadcrumbs to reference the closing scene of the film.
