From 16 March to 1 April 2012 visitors to the Ideal Home Show at the ExCel, London can see Electrolux Design Lab’s innovative concepts in the Virgin Media ‘House of the Future’. The fantastic concepts- invented by 2011 Design Lab finalists- offer smart domestic appliance solutions for the future. The four products to feature in the House will include runner up The Ribbon and winning concept the Spot Cleaner.

Award winning architects and designers to judge eight global finalists.
The winner of the 2011 Electrolux Design Lab competition will need to impress a jury consisting of leading architects and product designers at the Business Design Centre, London on the 7th September 2o11. Danish designer Cecilie Manz; award winning architects Hayes and James Slade; and Henrik Otto, Senior Vice President of Global Design at Electrolux, will assess eight finalists as they present ‘Intelligent Mobility’ themed domestic appliances.
Eight Electrolux Design Lab finalists offer Intelligent Mobility solutions. The ninth edition of the annual Electrolux Design Lab competition challenged industrial design students to consider Intelligent Mobility within home appliances. Electrolux will present the eight finalists, representing Australia; Canada; Finland; Hungary; New Zealand; Slovakia and the USA, in a programme that also features insights from Electrolux product specialists and leading designers, including Electrolux global head of Design, Henrik Otto.

Peter Alwin wins Electrolux Design Lab 2010 with The Snail
Peter Alwin from National Institute of Design in India is the winner of the Electrolux Design Lab 2010competition for inventing The Snail, the Micro Induction Heating.
Swedish home appliance giant Electrolux selected The Snail as the Electrolux Design Lab 2010 winner. The announcement was made at the finals in London on September 23, 2010, at 100% Design London, the UK’s leading architecture and design event.
