Respect for the environment and sustainability, two cornerstones that are close to the heart of Electrolux. Having sustainable products not only saves the environment but also benefits our consumers by lowering their electricity and water consumption.

This is why we have integrated sustainability in all our operations, from factory emissions to product performance. Because we are “Thinking of you”.

In line with that promise, Electrolux Malaysia is launching a green campaign to encourage their community and fans to “think eco” and adopt a greener vision for the future.

As part of this campaign, there will be a “Think Eco Challenge” for students from all secondary schools and tertiary institutions to take part in.  Who better to realise a vision of the future than our future generation?

This challenge will kick off in March and students are invited to join in and showcase their creativity and innovation by creating functional household items from discarded recyclable material.

They will be able to work in teams of three or less, and the winning team will walk away with RM10,000 cash and three Electrolux Jetmax vacuum cleaners . The school or college of the winning team will also receive RM2,000 and a recognition plaque. Submission of entries will close on 22 April.

Another highlight of the campaign is the Innovation Forum – a conference on how to create an “innovative” society and companies. The forum will feature high-level Swedish and Malaysian speakers from government, business and academic bodies, and is part of the Sweden-Malaysia Innovation Days.

The main event is a joint effort by the Swedish embassy and companies operating in Malaysia to promote Swedish innovation and business opportunities with local companies.

Want to go green in your own home?  We have the answer to that too. Under the “Switch to Green” promotion, consumers will receive gifts and promotional discounts on selected purchases from the Eco Range of appliances.

From March to May, consumers who spend more than RM3,000 in a single receipt will also be entitled to rebates in the form of an exclusive Citibank prepaid card.

To top this off, Electrolux will be bringing in the exclusive “Vac from the Sea” collection for a special showcase from 11 – 18 March. The “Vac from the Sea” collection is made up of five unique vacuum cleaners that are made with discarded plastic collected from the five oceans, namely, the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the North Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the Baltic Sea.
