Our shirts go everywhere with us. Whether it’s an oversized shirt for comfort at home, a button-up shirt at work or a casual T-shirt while hanging with friends, most of us spend a lot of our time in one.

Since the 1980s, shirts have even become a popular form of expression. Be it in the design itself, a slogan reflecting a belief, celebrities we identify with or jokes that reflect a particular sense of humour.

Some designs have become so famous that they are instantly recognisable even if the observer may not know much about it.  The image of Che Guevara emerged as a powerful symbol for freedom in the tumultuous political climate of the 1960’s, and continues to be a popular icon on T-shirts everywhere today. And who hasn’t seen or heard of the humourous meme ending with “…and all I got was this lousy T-shirt”?

This form of personal expression via the choice of shirt means every shirt has a story to tell about its wearer.  And now, you (in the Philippines) can tell the world about your special shirt story with the Electrolux My Shirt Story blogging contest.

Share a shirt story by recounting an experience about a particular shirt.  It could be about a shirt you wore on a significant event, a favourite shirt that you’ve had for years, or a shirt given by someone special.

The story should be posted on your blog and be as creative as possible, using different types of media like photos, videos or other audio-visual support. The post should end with the following:

“I love this shirt! Now I want someone else to love it too! I support the Electrolux Wash-athon Clothes Donation Advocacy“.
Then go to the Little White Book Page on Facebook, and click on the My Shirt Story application tab.  Register your blog entry there by providing your full name, email address and the URL of your blog entry.

Top qualifiers will receive an e-mail invite to attend the final event, where they can bring their special shirt to be donated to the Electrolux Wash-athon Event. The Grand Prize winner gets to go home with a limited edition Electrolux T-Drive Top Load Washer, while runners up will receive special prizes.

The contest is open to all bloggers residing in Mega Manila (Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal)
So get cracking on your blog today, and allow others to share the specialness of your shirt with you.
