With over 500,000 apps available on the Apple app store, if you ever  need help with something,  chances are, there’s an app for it. From interactive recipe apps that help you figure out what to cook for dinner to an organiser that helps you keep track of your chores, there’s never been an easier time to be a tech-savvy homemaker, coupled with great appliances you already have.

Here are five apps to make your life easier. And they won’t cost you more than a dollar.

The AllRecipes.com Dinner Spinner takes the stress out of coming up with dinner ideas with its database of thousands of user-submitted recipes.

You can either shake your iPhone for a random recipe or specify which meal you’re cooking, a dominant ingredient, how long you have to make it and voila, the app will find recipes that match your criteria. Complement the app suggestion with an intelligent cooking appliance like the Electrolux EOC69400X Inspiro Oven, which is capable of setting cooking parameters automatically based on the type and amount of food, and worry no more about whether you’ve made a good dinner.1.

2. KitchenPad Timer (US$0.99)

This app contains a visual timer for managing cooking times for multiple items on your stove and in your oven. Check how much cooking time is left on five different stove tops and four ovens at a glance and manage their heat or temperature settings.  You can also set audio alerts and push notifications when the cooking time is up, and save timers for favourite dishes.

A family Cozi account helps to keep everyone on the same page, sharing with the family appointments scheduled in the family calendar. It also sends reminders by text or email to ensure nobody misses an important event. Shopping and to-do lists can be retrieved on your iPhone remotely while selectively forgetful family members can be emailed their chores for the day – time to get movin’ with your Electrolux vac

Detailed instructions to perfect the art of the wash are available for total beginners.

This makes the Laundry Pal an ideal partner with Electrolux washing machines containing the Time Manager feature such as the EWN14991W, which allows washing times to be customised to suit the type and load of laundry being done.
