Pet hair will be a fact of life if you keep a dog or cat in your house. But you don’t have to accept living in the fur they shed.  Here are some tips for reducing pet hair in your house, and how to remove them quickly.

Brush them out

If your dog or cat is especially fluffy, brush out their hair often to lower the amount of hair floating about in your home. Do it in an area outside your living quarters, like the garage or back yard. For those that are low on space at home, lay a large plastic bag on the floor with big pieces of tape laid around its borders, sticky side up.

It may seem at times that your pet is trying to leave as much hair as he can in the most inconvenient places. Regular washing of bed linens or vacuuming them with a handheld vacuum like the Rapido Wet and Dry helps.

Make sure your pet can sit in the middle of the bag and start brushing. Much of the hair that drops to the ground should get caught on the tape or land in the plastic bag. Hair that comes out onto the brush should go into a covered bin or garbage bag situated right next to you. Be gentle when combing so your pet can enjoy the time too.

Taking your pet out for a walk after brushing and letting them run about will help remove any remaining loose hair on their bodies.

Have the right floors

If you’re a pet owner in the process of finding a new home or renovating yours, have a think about the type of floor that would be most conducive to cleaning. Pet hairs are much easier to clean off hardwood or tile floors than carpets.

Ergorapido BRC

The Ergorapido BRC is made for homes with pets, with a pedal that allows you to clear the brushroll of pet hair with one step on a pedal.

With upright vacuums like the Ergorapido Brush Roll Clean (BRC), quick, impromptu cleaning can be a breeze. With a lightweight grab and go design, this lithium-powered stick vacuum is both easy to handle and manoeuvre on both hard floors and carpets while removing pet hair from the ground.

The vacuum is also easy to clean and maintain for pet owners. The brushroll is an integral part of a vacuum’s cleaning performance, but is easily clogged with both human and pet hair as they tend to wrap around the brushroll. The Ergorapido BRC features a pedal that allows easy cleaning of the brushroll in seconds with one step.

Vacuum frequently

Ideally, keeping pet hair in the home to a minimum means vacuuming daily, or every few days. This is especially so for areas where hair balls can collect, such as in corners.

Handheld vacuums like the Rapido can help reach tight spots in a jiffy, or clean the hair off furniture. The vacuum is designed with wheels at the nozzle that help take the weight of the handheld off your wrist while gliding over any surface without damaging them, making it ideal for furniture that needs constant vacuuming.
