Six Asia Pacific Entries Make Top 35 of Electrolux Design Lab 2015

Electrolux has unveiled the 35 semi-finalists of the Design Lab 2015 competition which includes three entries from South Korea and one each from India, Indonesia and Taiwan.  All concepts are now published on www.electroluxdesignlab.com.

The theme for this year’s competition is “Healthy Happy Kids” with the competition searching for innovative ideas for products, accessories, consumables and services in three focus areas: Cooking, Fabric Care and Air Purification.

Check out these two creative ideas from India and South Korea.

Omkar Vilas More, from India has created the “HP+” – a competition-based learning system designed to educate kids about good healthy eating habits using technology to engage.  From sensors to scan foods for health content to holographic laser projections, and mobile connectivity, the HP+ provides an exciting way to learn good eating habits.

The Uggla, created by GuYong Park, from South Korea, is a bedtime, huggable air purifier which breathes as if it is alive.  By breathing through the special fabric of its inner and the outer cushion, the Uggla purifies the air around it, prevents mites and can even monitor the child’s health. These removable cushions can be washed and the product can be compactly stored when not in use.
