Electrolux to bring 200 More Jobs to Charlotte

Expansion to North American Headquarters to begin this summer
Electrolux will consolidate additional positions in Charlotte, creating 200 local jobs over the next four years with a $14 million capital investment in Charlotte. The positions will be relocated from other locations in the United States.
Electrolux chose Charlotte for the technical positions after a comprehensive review that included the option of locating the jobs in other U.S. locations or offshore facilities. The majority of the positions relocating to Charlotte work on product design for floor care products, as well as visual branding and electronic interfaces for a variety of Electrolux products.
Selection of Charlotte was helped by the North Carolina Economic Investment Committee’s approval of a Job Development Investment Grant to support the consolidation and growth. The majority of these positions will be located in an expansion to the existing Electrolux North American Headquarters.
The move is a result of the company’s global drive toward strengthening its competitiveness by increasing its speed and precision in product launches for the mass-market and premium segments. The move is also consistent with the “One Electrolux” strategy of fostering greater collaboration between areas of the company, ultimately resulting in shared global strength.
This strategy is an evolutionary step in a comprehensive program to generate optimized procurement, create faster and more efficient product development, and standardize and utilize modules for components common to many products.
The Electrolux North American Headquarters currently has more than 500 employees less than one year after relocating to Charlotte and is well on its way to meeting its original commitment of bringing 738 jobs to the City.
