Marty O’Gorman appointed President of Small Appliances North America
Marty O’Gorman is named new Head of Small Appliances North America and reports to Henrik Bergström, President and CEO Electrolux Small Appliances. O’Gorman previously held the position of Vice President and General Manager, Frigidaire Brand, Electrolux Major Appliances North America since 2008.
As President of Small Appliances North America, O’Gorman is responsible for the North American floor care business, known for the Eureka and Electrolux consumer brands. The division also sells high-quality commercial products under the Sanitaire brand name and central vacuums made by Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems (formerly known as Beam Industries).
“I am excited to welcome Marty to the Small Appliance team in North America,” said President and CEO Electrolux Small Appliances Henrik Bergström. “His expertise will be a great asset to the business and we look forward to leveraging his experience with the major appliance category as we launch small domestic appliances in the United States and Canada this fall.”
In his previous role, O’Gorman was responsible for the Frigidaire brand management, marketing and product development, as well as the overall profitable growth of the business. Until a successor is named, he will continue to assist Electrolux Major Appliances North America (EMA-NA) with the management of the Frigidaire brand.
O’Gorman joined Electrolux as CFO for EMA-NA in 2001 and has also led the major appliance freezer division and acted as executive sponsor for the Information Technology department.
O’Gorman is active in the Charlotte, NC community where he serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Central Carolinas and the Charlotte Regional Partnership. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Northwestern University.
Prior to joining Electrolux, O’Gorman was Vice President of E&J Gallo Winery where he led financial, information technology and distributor operation functions for the world’s largest winery. He has also held positions of responsibility with Quaker Oats Company.
O’Gorman took office August 1, 2011.
