Electrolux Presents at the Memphis Chamber of Commerce

President and CEO of Electrolux Major Appliances, North America Jack Truong presented to Memphians at a luncheon given by the Memphis Chamber of Commerce on June 8, 2012.

Providing insight into construction progress on the company’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Memphis, as well as an update on job growth related to the project, Truong presented a positive story for the company and the greater Memphis area.

“This facility represents a significant investment by the state of Tennessee, Shelby County, the city of Memphis and Electrolux,” said Jack Truong, president and CEO of Electrolux Major Appliances North America. “More importantly, the plant represents our company’s commitment to positive economic development through consumer driven innovation as reflected in our products.

“The Memphis plant will manufacture today’s most desired ovens, ranges and cooktops and we are thrilled to be contributing positively—not only to Memphis and Tennessee—but to consumers,” Truong continued. “Electrolux makes life a little easier for consumers by providing them with solutions to balance their busy lives with the needs of their families. The products we will manufacture in Memphis are used every day by consumers and we are so proud to have a place in their homes and in Memphis.”

Attendees of today’s luncheon were provided with the opportunity to win one of the cooking products on display through a special raffle. Darrell Cobbins won. Additionally, Electrolux made a contribution to the Mid-South Food Bank on behalf of all attendees.

The remaining cooking products will be donated to Habitat for Humanity for use in Memphis Neighborhood Revitalization projects.
