New Frigidaire® appliances are primed to meet growing consumer needs and demands

CHARLOTTE, NC, April 9, 2014 – Summer is right around the corner and consumers across the country are getting ready for jam-packed days of rushing kids to camp, jetting to and from work, whipping up nutritious dinners and throwing in a load of extra dirty dishes and pans before bed. This summer, Frigidaire® is here to bridge the gap between “not enough time” and “family play time” with a new double wall oven, dishwasher, and 2-in-1 Freezer/Refrigerator filled with time-saving features.

In a series of consumer studies focused on common kitchen frustrations, Frigidaire® found that 67 percent of consumers think their ovens take too long to preheat** and 40 percent are dissatisfied because their food does not cook evenly**. The new design of the Frigidaire Gallery® Double Wall Oven eliminates these frustrations with a 6-minute quick pre-heat and even cooking.

When it comes to washing dishes, consumers are focused on washing and drying performance. In fact, 83 percent of consumers regularly pre-rinse dishes* and 92 percent find themselves hand drying dishes before putting them away*. The new Frigidaire Gallery® Dishwasher addresses these issues with its exclusive wash system, providing four times better water coverage than traditional systems, and drying system that ensures dishes go straight into the cabinet dry.

Additionally, approximately 60 percent of consumers said they don’t have enough storage capacity in their refrigerator’s freezer. Frigidaire’s new Classic Slate Upright Freezer combats that issue and more while providing extra storage space and simple organization. In fact, the average consumer who own a secondary freezer makes 1 ½ less trips each month to the grocery store and saves an average of 60 hours per year by making fewer trips to the grocery store. Overall, those who own a secondary freezer say it allows them to stock up on family favorite foods, allowing them to save an average of $769 a year with the additional storage space.

“Frigidaire® understands that time is constantly at a premium for consumers, especially during the summer. What sets us apart is our commitment to developing innovative products that truly meet consumers’ needs,” said John Weinstock, senior vice president of Marketing for Electrolux Major Appliances North America. “That’s why we are committed to delivering time-saving innovations that work harder, smarter and strike the ideal balance between simplicity, innovation and efficiency. A perfect example is our industry first, truly Smudge-Proof™ Stainless Steel, available on our entire line of Frigidaire Gallery® products.”
