Electrolux takes patent infringement complaint to US ITC
Today, Electrolux and its water filter supplier, KX Technologies, jointly escalated their patent infringement concerns to the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), asking them to investigate allegations of water filter patent infringement by third-party manufacturers, importers and sellers.
The two companies allege that third-party sellers are using their technology illegally and without permission, and are seeking to prevent these sellers from importing and selling the filters in the U.S.
These products include Frigidaire and Electrolux branded water filters designed for use in the refrigerators Electrolux manufactures. A recent study of the third-party water filters revealed that they may contain artificial or harmful contaminants, compromising the health and wellbeing of U.S. consumers.
